Background I see myself mainly as a travel and people photographer with forays into adjacent fields such as event photography. It might sound like an odd mix to specialize in such different fields as meticulous-controling-the-light studio and location photography and in-the-mud-and-dust-in-the-far-corners-of-the-world travel photography. Well, I guess the simple answer is - why not? The bit more elaborate answer would probably be that both types of photography are me, and the combination has the added bonus of allowing me to do photography whenever; when not out and about doing travel photography, the studio or location is there to alleviate some creative steam. Enough about the philosophy of it, photography has been with me since quite some time now and since 1997 taking over more and more as a creative outlet from writing and drawing, to become the dominating medium of expression for me when I went digital in 2003. From there on the progress has been steady, but not always fast, going through a few less and less compact compacts and arriving at DSLR's in beginning 2007 when living in Miami. The pace has increased exponentially since then, working my way through different visual variations of expression, and I am burning with excitement to experiment. |
